Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the methodologies adopted in the mediation of teaching Visual Arts to students with visual impairments, through the state of the art, in the period from 2015 to 2021. With a qualitative approach, the methodological process took place through exploratory research, bibliographic and documentary, being developed through the database of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). The results show that there is an absence of studies regarding Visual Arts teaching methodologies for students with visual impairments, as there are several studies from 2015 to 2021 that address the Visual Arts teaching methodology, but only 3 studies, from 169, deal with different methodologies to provide meaningful and transformative assistance to students who have visual impairments. Therefore, the data reveal the urgency of studies focused on the educational process of people with visual impairments, in relation to accessibility to a world full of images, symbols and visual codes.
