Abstract

The study explores the intersection of Professional Education and Events within the educational context, focusing on the Instituto Estadual de Educação Dr. Caetano Munhoz da Rocha in Paranaguá, Paraná, under the State Department of Education of Paraná. It reflects on literature, institutional documents, and data from academic events hosted by the institute. The research aims to redefine the role of Professional Education in fostering engagement through events, highlighting their potential to reduce dropout rates, enhance institutional growth, and improve educational indicators. The institute’s innovative use of events, gaining local and regional recognition, is a central focus. Various event formats, including academic integration, cultural competitions, technical visits, forums, festivals, congresses, workshops, and graduations, are analyzed for their impact on the school community. These activities illustrate how events can enrich Professional Education and engage students actively.

The study employs a qualitative and quantitative methodology, blending bibliographical and documentary research with content analysis to interpret data and findings. It is exploratory, descriptive, and explanatory in nature, aiming to understand and articulate the role of events in educational development. The research underscores the academic and social importance of integrating events into Professional Education, emphasizing their capacity to inspire innovative practices and reflections. It suggests that such initiatives could inform public policy development and provide a framework for other educational systems to emulate. By sharing successful practices, the study seeks to advance the holistic development of Professional Education and improve the overall quality of teaching, fostering a more engaged and dynamic educational environment.
