Abstract

This study promoted the structural validation of a cutting platform applied to a grain harvester, focusing on verifying the points of maximum stress, maximum displacement, and equivalent deformations through structural simulations using the finite element method (FEM) and reverse engineering techniques. A field survey of the equipment's dimensions was performed for three-dimensional modeling using software, a tool used for modeling and structural simulations. Through structural simulations using the finite element method based on the properties of ASTM A36 steel, it was possible to conclude, based on the results presented and the safety factor generated, that the structural design of the platform studied is robust and meets the safety and mechanical performance criteria for equipment operation. The safety factor found remained within the stipulated range of 1.2 to 5.0. The study reinforces the need for structural validations to ensure structural integrity and operational safety in engineering projects.
